OUR FOUNDERS

Simbox was founded by three persons (Dennis Roubos, Gwen Roosemont, Marcel de Jong) who already had worked together as colleagues since 2009. Today, Simbox is managed by Dennis and Gwen, ensuring that the founding vision remains intact. Since the early 2000s Gwen has helped hospitals to improve in process management, capacity management, and the overall hospital flow. He is among the founding fathers of the thinking in hospital-Wide Capacity Management as it is practiced in many countries today.

Dennis is passioned by mathematics, and after obtaining his PhD in Operations Research in 2010 he practiced his knowledge by developing data science technology in the field of Patient Flow Management.

OUR VISION

What drives us is a long story. A story rooted in our own quest to make a difference for hospitals. We learned that many organisations struggle to improve, to create a high-performance culture, to deal with day-to-day challenges. And this leads to pressure on patients, people, quality of care, financial challenges,…

So, we looked for answers, for examples, for organisations that stood out. And what we found was that there are good examples of organisations that thrive. And those organisations share some common elements. So we learned to apply these elements, and to implement them at the hospitals. And thus we created a framework based on these success elements, as a guide for hospitals and other healthcare organisations to improve the application of Patient Flow Management (more can be found in the Do you know… section on this website).
